24-25 BCS Aspiring Leaders' Syllabus
During the program, each session and chapter will align with the WVDE Principal Evaluation Standards9Showin in the table below). Participants will engage in in-person sessions that provide an overview of State policy and BCS practices while also gaining insights from experienced school leaders on effective strategies for meeting these evaluation standards. Beyond the sessions, the program offers blog posts, videos, personalized coaching with the author, resume enhancement and valuable mentorship opportunities.

In this dynamic course, educators will explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing teaching and learning experiences. Designed for K-12 educators, this course aims to demystify AI technologies and provide practical strategies for integrating AI tools into the classroom. Through a series of modules, participants will learn how to utilize AI to create engaging content, personalize learning, and critically evaluate AI-driven learning experiences. This course will cover key AI applications, including generative AI for content creation, AI-driven formative assessment tools, and the ethical implications of AI in educational settings, in accordance with the WVDE guidance on AI in education.

Classroom Management and Student Engagement -- Spring 2025

This course focuses on building a classroom management plan that will minimize behaviors and increase student engagement. Learn the types of student engagement and how they support classroom management; the difference between management and discipline; and the importance of procedures for good classroom management.
Successful completion of all requirements will earn participant three (3) credit hours through Marshall University. The cost of the course is $212 plus registration fees. This course could be used towards certificate renewal and/or salary increase.
